Course Overview

Our automotive programmes are taught by assessors and trainers with extensive industry experience.

Many of our previous apprentices have gone on to own their own garages.

Learners will cover topics that include:

  • Basic vehicle maintenance
  • Servicing
  • Removing and replacing vehicle components from a range of systems including braking, chassis, engines and transmissions
  • Vehicle inspections

Learners will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

Successful learners could progress onto a vehicle maintenance apprenticeship, followed by permanent employment as a qualified mechanic, then progression to workshop manager, automotive engineer or owning own business.

: The course is based in Trafford Park and you will achieve a level 2 diploma in engineering

Duration: 32 weeks

Eligibility: Will be discussed at interview 

You will receive an allowance of up to £10 per week. There may be additional bursaries that you can apply for.
