Care, Health and Education Pre-Apprenticeship

This course is ideal for people wanting to progress to a career in care, health and education.

The course provides an introduction to the range of provisions and services available in the following industries: health, social care, teaching and learning.

What will I study on the course?

You will study about the different roles played by workers in care – from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others effectively.  You will also learn about more specialised areas in care such as learning disability, sensory loss or mental health.

What are the progression opportunities after the course?

Successful learners can go onto a level 2 qualifications in teaching and learning, health, social care or children’s settings. It also provides the opportunity to progress to employment in a range of job roles in the care sectors.

What allowance will I receive?

Learners will receive £30 per week for full attendance and may also be eligible for further bursaries.

Where can I study for the course?
  • Manchester city centre - 8 week childcare pre-apprenticeship, 8 week teaching and learning pre-apprenticeship, 1 year health and social care pre-apprenticeship 
  • All training centres - level 1 childcare pre-apprenticeship
