Course Overview

An apprenticeship in engineering is often viewed as the best route into the constantly developing industry.

We offer a range of specialised pathways at level and we are EAL and City & Guilds approved centres.

Learners will cover a range of hands on engineering topics, including:

  • Machining
  • Electrical wiring
  • Maintenance
  • Hand fitting
  • Health and safety
  • Using technical information and how to work efficiently in the workshop
  • Plus a range of employability skills. 

After completing the pre-apprenticeship, learners can progress onto an engineering apprenticeship, followed by permanent employment as an engineering technician, and further progression into project management roles and the becoming a director of engineering or starting your own business.

Course details:

: The course is based in Trafford Park and you will achieve a level 2 diploma in engineering

Duration: 20 week programme - 5 days per week or 40 week programme - 3 days per week 

Eligibility: Grade C in English and maths GCSE. 

You will receive an allowance of up to £10 per week. There may be additional bursaries that you can apply for.
