Engineering Pre-Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship in engineering is often viewed as the best route into the constantly developing industry.

After completing the pre-apprenticeship, learners can progress onto an engineering apprenticeship, followed by permanent employment as an engineering technician, and further progression into project management roles and the becoming a director of engineering or starting your own business.

What will I study on the course?

Learners will cover a range of hands on engineering topics, including:

  • Machining
  • Electrical wiring
  • Maintenance
  • Hand fitting
  • Health and safety
  • Using technical information and how to work efficiently in the workshop
  • Plus a range of employability skills. 
What qualification will I get?
  • Level 2 Diploma in Engineering
What are the entry requirements?
  • Grade C GCSE in English and Maths.
What allowance will I receive?

You will receive an allowance of up to £25 per week for the 40 week course and up to £40 for a 20 week course. There may be additional bursaries that you can apply for.
