What does the course cover?

You will cover a range of hands on topics, including:

  • Working safely
  • Interpret and follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Measure, mark out, cut, finish, position and secure timber products
  • Installing door or window frames, linings, floor joist coverings, straight partitions and straight staircases
  • Installing side hung doors, mouldings, ironmongery, service encasements, wall and floor units, cladding and staircase components

 

 

Will I receive an allowance?

You will receive an allowance of up to £25 per week. 

What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a NOCN Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry (Construction).

What are the entry requirements?

Ideally, you will have completed the Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery, however if you have a GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and maths you will be considered for this course.

How much does the course cost?

The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
