The Level 3 TAQA qualifications in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes, is a practical based qualification and is intended for individuals whose job requires them to maintain the quality of assessments from within an organisation or assessment centre
It can be achieved via 3 possible routes. The route you choose will be dependent on your role in the assessment process.
The course comprises:
- an initial assessment
- 1 day workshop
- 4 workplace visits

Course Duration: This course runs for 3-6 months
Unit 301 - Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
This is a knowledge-only unit for those wanting to become an Assessor or Trainer. It has also been designed by those who need to know about the assessment practice as part of their role, but who will not be directly assessing candidates competence or knowledge.
Unit 302 - Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
This unit is intended for Assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment. You must have a minimum of two candidates to assess, preferably within your own organisation. Assessor-candidates must be occupationally competent and suitably qualified in the subject area they intend to assess. You will need to attend quality and standardisation meetings.
Unit 303 - Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
This unit is intended for Assessors who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example in a workshop, the classroom or other training environment).
This workshop covers:
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
- Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
- Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
