Site Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship

The site carpentry diploma allows you to learn, develop and practice the skills required to prepare you for a job in carpentry.

On this course you will learn a variety of skills such as joinery manufacturing and site carpentry. The work is varied and you could progress to work for a joinery company, site carpentry firm or a small building company.

What qualification will I get?
  • Level 1 Diploma in Site Carpentry
What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry grade requirements however, candidates must complete an initial assessment and interview.

What will I learn on the course?

You will complete the following modules:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction
  • Principles of building construction, information and communication
  • Carry out first fix flooring and roofing
  • Carry out first fix frames, partitions and stairs
  • Carry out second fixing operations
  • Carry out carpentry maintenance
  • Set up and operate a circular saw
What allowance will I receive?

You will receive an allowance of up to £25 per week. There may be additional bursaries that you can apply for.
