On Tuesday 21st August, students at Harpurhey training centre held a talent show at AJ’s Academy in Moston to entertain adults who attend the academy. AJ’s is a place where adults who have learning difficulties can go to take part in activities, make friends and have fun. Staff from AJ’s formed the judging panel, and it’s safe to say the students had the X Factor.
Various acts – including dancers, a magician and a singer – took to the stage in their bid to impress the judges. The audience were also treated to a special DJ set from Kemoy Walker.
The winner of the talent show was Moses Oshinyeni, who took home some shopping vouchers as his prize. Moses performed an impressive sole dance that entertained the whole crowd.
Take a look at how the talent show went and hear from Denzel Bastos about why he thinks it’s important for learners to be involved in activities like this.
