We’re pleased to announce the government has approved the new Level 5 HR apprenticeship standard for delivery.
Details of the Level 5 Human Resources Apprenticeship Standard
In development since August 2015, the Trailblazer group responsible for its development featured an all-star cast of the some of the country’s biggest businesses, including:
- Barclays Bank
- Marks and Spencer
- The NHS
As an early adopter of the HR apprenticeship framework, which we’ve been delivering to large employers nationwide for several years, we’ve been eagerly awaiting its publication and anticipate it being a popular option for employers looking for a return on their Apprenticeship Levy funds.
Equivalent to a foundation degree, the standard is designed to cater for HR partners and consultants in a range of settings and aims to give staff a good grounding in a range of HR disciplines, including:
- Technical HR expertise
- Business understanding
- The function of HR
- Market insight and technology
Several specialisms are also available to explore, including resourcing, rewards, organisation development and HR operations.
How much does the Level 5 Human Resources Apprenticeship Standard cost?
The standard typically takes two-to-three years to complete and is fundable under the Levy and co-investment. It sits in funding band 9, which means providers can charge a maximum of £9,000 per apprentice.
As well as the standard itself, apprentices will need to complete the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) Level 5 intermediate certificate or diploma in human resource management.
Upon passing end-point assessment, they’ll also be able to apply for associate membership of the CIPD, which opens the pathway for full chartered membership.
