Kemoy Walker inspires Harpurhey learners

09 Aug 2018
On Monday 6 August, learners at our Harpurhey training centre were delighted to welcome Kemoy Walker for an inspirational talk around his work in the community and how he guides young people to do the right thing.

Kemoy dedicates his time into helping young people by giving them solid advice, support and guidance to help to keep them on the right path. Kemoy has a variety of roles to help the community - he's a teacher, a youth worker, CEO of KYSO (Keem Youth Shout Out) and also is an ambassador for Manchester and Moss Side.

June Murphy, key worker at Harpurhey training centre organised the talk for the learners as part of their summer programme. She said: "Kemoy is well respected throughout the community, by both the learners and staff at Harpurhey training centre. The learners were able to see what else they could get involved with with the outstanding work Kemoy is doing. Having inspirational speakers come into the training centre gives more confidence to the learners to see what they can achieve while they're on programme with us and it supports the progression of the learners. Kemoy is simply a total joy to have working along our centre!"
