A normal day would include:
Learning how to inspect, service, diagnose, repair and maintain customer’s vehicles, Ground Support Equipment, Plant and Fixed Assets in accordance with the high quality, safety and cost standards set by the business.
Learning how to prioritise your workload in order to meet the needs of the business. To accurately complete all associated paperwork, service sheets, work orders, reports and information required by management and learn how to communicate effectively with a wide range of Colleagues, Team Leaders, Managers, Contractors and Customers.
Actively seeking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Manchester Airport Group and how Motor Transport supports the business needs.
Developing effective problem solving skills with the ability to complete tasks using technical documents (either from hard copy or soft copy) and ensuring when provided with the correct tools that they are used in accordance with applicable codes of practice.
• Assisting technicians in the inspection, service and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles, Passenger Carrying Vehicles and Ground Side Equipment in accordance with current legislation and industry best practice.
• Adhering to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (Duties of Employees), ensuring safe practice is adhered to at all times.
• Completing maintenance documentation (hard or soft copy) in an accurate and timely manner.

How you will be supported
Full training and support will be provided on the job by the MAG workshop staff and you will be supported by our expert training and assessment staff at The Skills Company. You will also attend college one day per week in order to receive the theory and underpinning knowledge required for the Apprenticeship.
