A normal day would include
- As an apprentice, you'll work under the close supervision of a class teacher
Your duties will vary depending on how the teachers you work with plan their lessons and handle day-to-day classroom activities
- Prepare back-up material for teachers
- General care and supervision of children during the school day
- To develop good relationships with children, parents and other professionals.
- To attend training relevant to the post.
- To implement food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Apprentice SEN/Teaching Support Assistant to work with a children and or teaching support work as required
- Participating with language development, particularly oral language and taking part in individual and group discussion with children , under the direct supervision of the Class teacher
- Part of your role is lunch time supervision. During this time, you will support and manage the children in the dining hall and in the playground. During some lunch times you will support some children with SEN.
What you could go on to do
On completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship, individuals will have the opportunity to apply to progress on to the Advanced Apprenticeship.
