Engineering and Fabrication Traineeship

About this opportunity

Learning to manufacture steel roller shutters, with a team of engineers. Based primarily in our workshop, the role would also involve occasional site based work as and when required.

The successful candidate would be trained in all aspects of manufacturing of roller shutters involving informal in-house on the job training, in addition to gaining CSCS site operative status and other relevant door and shutter mechanical and electrical qualifications and training. The environment is fast moving and varied providing opportunities to learn quickly.

You will also study your English and Maths at the Salford training centre if needed.

A normal day would include:
Measuring, marking out and cutting of steel sections and tubes
Drilling, grinding and deburring (cleaning) of steel section
Hand/roller painting of finished product
Checking quality/quantity of the finished product

The role would be a trainee position, progress can be rapid for the candidate as the environment is fast moving. In house training with MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding would also be provided. For a suitable candidate, the company would be looking to offering a full apprenticeship once the traineeship is completed. When the traineeship and apprencticeship is completed the candidate can also gain formal Door and Shutter NVQ Level 2. Annual earnings once all training and qualifications completed would be between £17,750 - £21,500.

Once qualified you could go on to be site based or learn other aspects of the door and shutter trade, where earnings potential would considerably higher.
