Hornby and Co, a leading accountancy firm, are looking to appoint an trainee apprentice accountant on a full time, permanent basis to join their small but dynamic team.
A normal day would include:
Preparing purchase and sales day book
Preparing cash book
Reconciliation of debtors and creditors
Preparing VAT returns
Preparing and posting journals
Managing client records
Liaising with clients on a regular basis
Managing client enquiries
Meeting and greeting clients
Other accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll tasks

Possible progression within the company and progression onto the next level apprenticeship.

Must have B grade in maths and English and AAT L2 qualification or an AS/A-level in accounting
An understanding of the need to deal with customers sensitively and to keep information confidential
Ability to take on individual project work and demonstrate initiative
Good IT skills
Knowledge of a range of different computer packages such as Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software
Good communication and interpersonal skills
