About this opportunity

Lockton are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Insurance Claims Associate to join the claims team, specialising in transportation claims. There will be full training and support, working towards a fully funded professional qualification.

Initially the role will be largely processing-focussed for you to fully learn the business. There is excellent ongoing scope to develop claims handling skills and responsibilities including:

•Administering the claims process and providing and effective service to clients
•Efficient processing of claims
•Escalation of claims and identification/escalation of policy issues where required
•Assisting with the audit of claims statistics
Some of the key skills you will need to demonstrate in the role include:
•Time management
•Building and maintaining relationships with clients, insurers and other Lockton associates
•Professional and tactful negotiation skills to achieve objectives
•Ability to prepare and interpret claims data

What you should have to apply

Solid educational background, with good A-Level qualifications in essay based or analytical subjects
Minimum 2 A Levels grade C and above or equivalent

Skills

A desire to work within the insurance sector, with an interest to gain an understanding of the claims process in particular

Good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing

An ability and attitude to support the wider claims team in reaching and exceeding team objectives

An ability to develop insurance knowledge through formal and informal learning

An ability to manage time, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality

A good understanding of the MS Office suite, including Outlook and Excel
