About this opportunity

Are you keen to develop a career in project management or are you seeking a career change? If so, our Project Management Apprenticeship Programme offers no better place to start!

As an apprentice working within our projects group, you will receive hands-on experience and have an opportunity to work on exciting, varied and large-scale projects such as the construction of Stockport and Tameside Interchanges, the expansion of Metrolink through the construction of the Trafford Park line, the development and delivery of schemes to make cycling and walking more attractive options, and the introduction of improvements to bus services outlined in the Bus Services Bill.

You will join a supportive culture where you will receive coaching from experienced project professionals and structured training and development. You will also have the opportunity to work with apprentices currently working in the department, and to learn from their experiences. You will have the opportunity to undertake placements in different teams within the projects group and other selected departments throughout the organisation, which will provide you with exposure to the varied project portfolio, and the different roles that are instrumental in the successful delivery of TfGM’s projects. You will learn about TfGM’s project and programme procedures, assist in project reviews, create project documents including plans and risk reports, contribute to the monthly project reporting process, maintain financial records, and assist with the preparation of reports.

What you could go on to do:
You will complete a level 4 associate project manager apprenticeship and as part of this you can become a student member of the Association for Project Management (APM) and will achieve the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Level D qualification upon completion.

How you will be supported:
Full training and support will be provided by The Growth Company to help you achieve your apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role.

What will happen next:
