Apprentice Process Operator of Sports Mats

About this opportunity

As a process operator you will be responsible for the manufacture of gym mats, safety mattresses and other foam products using machinery and portable equipment. The employer requires the successful candidate to complete a traineeship first.

A normal day would include:
• Product assembly and fabrication of gym mats
• Working as part of a team on a laminator line producing gym mats
• Converting foam blocks and sheets to production specifications and instructions with cutting machinery
• Baling waste foam
• Packing of various products for dispatch
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Ensuring that the mat production is cost effective with minimal adhesive usage and waste generated
• Completing the necessary paperwork and records
• Maintaining the quality standards agreed
• Working as part of a team to implement the company's policies and goals
• Following health, safety and environmental guidelines
• Carrying out any other responsibilities as reasonably requested by your manager

At all times you must comply with all Health and Safety requirements as instructed on induction and throughout your apprenticeship program and be proactive at reporting potential hazards.
