A normal day would include:
• To work with residents encouraging choice, participation, motivation and risk taking, with everyone’s needs at the centre of that work.
• To ensure the safety of residents always and be familiar with both Adult Protection policies and procedures.
• To assist with serving of refreshments and meals.
• To help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities and to assist in the use of care aids and personal equipment.
• To make and change beds, assist in the care of personal clothing and washing, to do some light cleaning, including wheelchairs, personal drawers and cupboards, ensuring the resident’s environment is clean and tidy at all times
• To encourage and support residents, assisting at mealtimes to detailed care plans; bathing; dressing/undressing; personal cleanliness and appearance.
• To take part in scheduled day and group activities with residents in accordance with the activities timetables.
