Apprentice Maintenance Engineer

About this opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long established, successful food manufacturing company to become a multi-skilled engineer with extensive practical and theoretical technical knowledge in the area of maintenance.

A normal day would include:

• Preventative maintenance
• Supporting the engineers on breakdowns
• The installation of new equipment
• Analysis of downtime (machinery breakdown)
• Tasks as deemed appropriate by the engineering manager
• Developing a high level of knowledge and understanding of engineering technical drawings and specifications
• Working through all areas to develop a sound knowledge of the full range of company products and manufacturing processes
• Producing and maintaining accurate records in accordance with role requirements
• Demonstrating continual commitment to develop your skills and knowledge throughout your apprenticeship

The role is a shop floor hands-on based apprenticeship, but you will also work in conjunction with internal departments across the whole facility.

What you should have to apply

• The successful candidate will have achieved GCSE minimum grade C/4 in Maths, English and Science
• Good IT skills, GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent level of achievement would also be an advantage.
• Previous Engineering experience/qualifications, specifically in the areas of Mechanical and Electrical engineering would be a significant advantage.
