About this opportunity

This is an exciting position within a large City Centre based law firm. The role is administrative based with a large importance on accuracy and attention to detail.

The role of revenue assistant will sit within the central accounts team, who look maximise the conversion of time worked to money as quickly and effectively as possible - It is essential therefore that we have a robust and effective revenue and debt management process.

• Work closely with the secretarial and partner group to ensure that all financial information required at the point of opening a new client or matter is captured in full and is accurate. This will include, but is not limited to, checking addresses, checking rates, checking VAT details, confirming billing profiles and any other aspects of opening Matter and Client data maintenance.
• To be responsible for maintaining this data through the life cycle of the matter and making any necessary changes as required.
• To assist the revenue and accounts teams with other standing data maintenance and ongoing matter management as and when required which may include time transfers, rate revaluations, submission of billing guides and write-offs.
• The intention and importance of the role is to ensure that the accuracy of this core data is correct at the start of the revenue cycle and that any changes are processed quickly during the matter cycle. This in turn will lead to increased efficiencies during the life of the matter in terms of quicker and more accurate billing, greater clarity for the client and quicker conversion of the time worked into cash.
• The role of the revenue assistant will require a quick learning curve to understand all aspects of the revenue cycle in a professional services firm, a full time visible presence and interaction with secretaries and partners and a key interaction with other functions within the accounts team. The role will work closely with the revenue controllers who have a broader remit to ensure the overall revenue cycle is working efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Needs to be able to provide value and quality in all reporting, ensuring data reported is accurate and timely.
• Needs to have strong numeracy and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
• Strong ability and work ethic to meet deadlines under pressure with an ability to manage high volumes of transactions daily
