About this opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an IT Apprentice to join KeolisAmey Metrolink as part of the IT team. The role will be focused on the becoming an IT Infrastructure specialist, assisting colleagues with their IT, networking and phone issues.

A normal day would include:

An office based role, you will become an integral part of the IT Team, a customer facing role you will interact with people across the organisation and provide key IT support and guidance. Key responsibilities within the role could include:

• Setting up laptops/desktops/phones
• Installing software
• Answering helpdesk calls
• User support
•Setting up users for system access
• Updating hardware and software asset reports
• Period end administration (copying in templates, printing for viz and updating room at both depots)
• Data process documentation
• Creating user manuals

You will also be:
• Learning and developing Skills in areas related to IT
• Your continuous aim will be to develop your skills and knowledge throughout your apprenticeship.
• The ability to work safely and effectively in a time constrained environment is an essential requirement of the apprenticeship.
• Successful applicants progressing to the later stages of the selection process will have the opportunity to discuss the potential work they can get involved in with members of the Finance team.
• Working correctly at all times to the company Environmental, ISO quality and H&S procedures.
• Producing and maintaining accurate records in accordance with role requirements.
• Demonstrating continual commitment to develop your skills and knowledge throughout your apprenticeship

What you should have to apply

• The successful candidate will have achieved GCSE minimum Grade C (4) in Maths, English, Science, I.T.

• Basic understanding of Microsoft office packages (particularly excel) and a keenness to develop these skills further throughout the Apprenticeship
• Good Communicator – verbal and written (emphasis on reports and documentation)
• Ability to work effectively, efficiently and safely to schedules and deadlines
