This is the perfect opportunity for an individual to begin their career in HR. This role will provide exposure to the full range of activities that occur in a busy HR department, from recruitment and selection to maintaining HR systems etc.
A normal day would include:
• Organising interviews
• Updating and maintaining our HR management systems
• Processing nominations for our internal recognition scheme
• Collecting data and reporting on key HR metrics
• Supporting HR improvement projects
• Supporting administration for our other apprenticeships
• Providing basic advice on policy and procedure to our managers and associates
• Setting up and managing monthly site communications meetings
What you could go on to do
This role would progress into that of an HR generalist which would command a greater level of responsibility in terms of full accountability of filling vacant roles, supporting managers with more complex employee relations issues and updated and revising policies. As part of our longer term succession plan we would aim for an apprentice to one day progress to the role of HR Manager.
