A great opportunity is available at Grey Fell Academy who are look for an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner. This is an exciting chance for someone to start their career in childcare

This role will involve:

• Providing full and practical support in the day to day operations of the nursery
• Planning, organising and implementing appropriate activities for children which meet their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and development needs
• Assisting in providing a safe, supportive and caring environment for young children.
• Monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting on the development and progress of children in the setting
• Keeping children’s files up to date with planning for their individual needs, observations, development records and all other relevant documentation
• Preparing and serving food, milk, drinks and snacks to children as required
• Assisting children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with potty training, toileting, changing clothes
• Housekeeping duties including cleaning of the nursery to ensure that hygienic standards are maintained at all times

Desired qualifications
Although no specific qualifications are required to apply for this vacancy, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are able to complete the Apprenticeship framework and will be required to complete maths and English assessments.

Future prospects
Possibility of securing a permanent position within the nursery on completion of the intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship programme. Progression to Level 3 qualification may be a possibility

Things to consider
This post is subject to an enhanced Vetting and Barring/CRB Disclosure which will disclose all cautions, reprimands and warnings as well as convictions.
The role will require involvement in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, open days, Christmas parties etc. The role may include long periods of being physically active.
