About this opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join a construction company as a Business Administration Apprentice. The main function of this role is to assist the Procurement Manager and Procurement Assistant

Main responsibilities will be:

• Building effective relationships with suppliers & site personnel, by use of appropriate questioning, clarification and language
• Dealing appropriately with site/supplier queries received, providing quick response times.
• Maintaining and updating site records & dispute files accurately.
• Raising and issuing Purchase Orders
• Working as part of a team to achieve the departmental standards
• Taking responsibility for own personal development in line with agreed annual performance objectives
• Plant / Material reporting - Assist the Procurement Dept to ensure that plant and material reports are distributed for verification / authorisation when required, responses are dealt with within the specified timeframes, systems are updated weekly and sites are made aware of any discrepancies
• Materials, plant and transport invoice authorisation and processing, deal with supplier invoice queries and disputes - All invoices are authorised in accordance with the Company’s authorisation procedure and are sent to the accounts department by the month end deadline, invoices are photocopied and registered as required system and order numbers are copied from invoice to front, queries and disputes are resolved as quickly as possible, the query / dispute spreadsheets and files are updated accordingly, supplier difference on the accounts system are highlighted.
• Provide cover for procurement calls during lunchtimes, holidays and during periods of staff shortages
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post
