A normal day might include
• Printing and photocopying application forms for HR
• Answering the telephone
• Opening mail, pigeonholing mail, franking outward mail
• Receiving parcels
• Providing great customer service to visitors to the academy
• Emailing teachers with messages
• Using the school database (SIMS) to check student details
• Printing reports from SIMS and emailing to staff
What you could go on to do
Your experience and knowledge of the administration functions in a school will enable you to follow a career path in business administration or indeed eventually in School Business Management. The skills you will learn will also be transferable to any organisation.
