This engaging and motivating Study Programme is for 16-18 year olds who have a keen interest to learn about maintenance associated with vehicles and machinery used in the automotive sector.

Our automotive programmes are taught by assessors and trainers with extensive industry experience. Many of our previous apprentices have gone on to own their own garages.

Learners can typically progress to a higher level of learning such as a Level 2 Apprenticeship.

What topics will be covered?

Learners will cover topics that include:

  • Basic vehicle maintenance
  • Servicing
  • Removing and replacing vehicle components from a range of systems including braking, chassis, engines and transmissions
  • Vehicle inspections

Learners will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must have achieved a GCSE Grade 2 and a minimum of Entry 3 in maths and English when completing the initial assessment upon enrolment.

What allowance will I receive?

You will receive an allowance of up to £25 per week. There may be additional bursaries that you can apply for.

What qualification will I get?
