The Certificate in Education 14+ (Cert Ed 14+) is for trainee teachers in further education, sixth form colleges, adult and community education, universities, the prison and probation services, pre-employment training and work-based learning.

On this programme you will study:
The majority of teaching consists of lectures, small group work and one to one tutorials. Assessment is through assignments, projects and team presentations. You will also be observed teaching your classes and you will need to provide evidence of a minimum of 100 hours of teaching during the course. Our tutors have all worked in lifelong learning for many years and will provide support to help you to succeed.
On successful completion you will achieve a Level 5 Certificate in Education 14+ (Cert Ed 14+), awarded by the University of Bolton.
This course will give you the necessary skills and practical experience required to prepare you for a teaching career, with the emphasis being in the Further Education and Skills sector. In this sector, you’ll have the opportunity to work with Further Education learners who range in age from 14 years old to adult. These students come from different backgrounds and experiences and may enter further education from local schools, the community, industry or local businesses. You may wish to progress on to the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (14+).
The fee for the part-time route is £3,300 per year.
The fee for the full-time route is £8,250.
Students are generally entitled to a tuition fee loan from Student Finance England.
