Childcare Study Programme

This Study Programme is for school or college leavers aged 16 to 18 who are looking to seek employment in the Childcare sector and progress quickly on to a level 2 apprenticeship.

This is a government-funded programme which has been designed to support your development and skills to get you started on your journey to a career in childcare.

This programme is designed to help you develop a wealth of knowledge, skills and behaviours that enhances your chance of securing an apprenticeship working with young children. Along with providing you with the confidence of being able to articulate why you want to work in the Childcare sector, you will develop the skills to be able to demonstrate what you can bring to a potential employer during an interview.

By the end of this programme, you will be ready for the transition into a childcare setting and have the skillset to help you prepare for a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Childcare

What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve:

  • Essential employment skills for working in the Childcare sector
  • Functional Skills English (if applicable)
  • Functional Skills maths (if applicable)
What are the entry requirements?

You must have access to the internet and laptop/PC/tablet or smart phone.

You need to be highly motivated and committed, be able to work independently and have a strong willingness to learn.

When will I attend?

This Study Programme is a combination of classroom and online learning. You will be required to attend 2-3 days per week with some virtual and home study expectations.

How much does the course cost?

The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
