Essential Digital Skills (Entry 3 to Level 1)
This course will improve your confidence to use technology for work, learning and daily life.
As technology advances, most jobs require you to have some level of digital skill. Employers may require you to:
- use the internet on a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC
- communicate online using email and social media
- work from home or a remote location. For example, using online tools like Zoom, Skype, Teams and Facetime to communicate
- create online accounts to access information
- search for reliable information online
- behave safely and legally online
You will also need digital skills every day for shopping, banking, and keeping in touch with family and friends.

This course covers:
- Using devices
- Creating and editing digital media
- Using technology to communicate
- Buying and transacting online
- How to stay safe and secure when using technology
On successful completion, you will achieve an Essential Digital Skills qualification, either at Entry 3 or a Level 1 depending on which one you have been enrolled on.
There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications.
Prior to enrolment, you will complete an assessment, the outcome of the assessment will decide which level you will be enrolled on to
You will complete this course alongside your chosen Study Programme. You will attend the training centre 3 days per week.
The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
