You will complete the following modules:

Level 4:

Level 5:

  • Group dynamics and working as a team
  • Collaborative health care
  • Planning care delivery
  • Introduction to psychology

The assessment strategy for the programme is designed to help you achieve overall goals in addition to those of individual modules. Formative assessments involve personalised feedback to help you build on personal strengths and overcome weaknesses. Summative assessments are those for which the marks contribute to the overall module grade, and these also involve feedback to support your ongoing improvement and achievements.

What will I achieve?

On successful completion you will achieve a Foundation Degree in Health Care Studies, awarded by the University of Bolton.

After graduation, you’ll be able to use your skills in health and social care to seek employment within the youth justice system, NHS trusts, private hospitals, children's services, social services, family centres, as well as children's homes. You’ll also be able to seek work in the voluntary sector and with medical charities and not-for-profit organisations. Further academic studies and professional training in a variety of fields including social work, teaching and allied health professions is a future consideration.

What are the entry requirements?
  • Ideally, you will hold a level 3 qualification in a related subject; however substantial relevant work experience may also be acceptable.
  • You will be expected to work either paid or voluntary within a relevant health and social care setting for a minimum of 15 hours per week alongside the programme. 
How much does the course cost?

£8,250 per year.
