The course is ideal for anyone who uses IT within their current job role and wants to gain a formal qualification, and also those who are familiar with using a computer and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
To complete this course, you will need access to a computer and a basic level of IT knowledge. It would also be of benefit to have some level of confidence in producing documents in Word, PowerPoint and Excel (as you will need to do this as part of your assessment).
Please note that this course is not for beginners, or for those who do not have consistent access to a laptop or PC.

This course will encourage you to think about how IT can be used in different ways as you are introduced to specific tools that will aid you in utilising IT in everyday life. You will consider the best software and tools for specific tasks and will do this with the view of improving your productivity and efficiency. You will also learn about the importance of IT security; from unwanted emails and spam, to computer viruses and firewalls. As you make progress through the course you will look in detail at presentation and spreadsheet software and will be assessed on your understanding and use of these.
Please note: competency elements will be assessed by viewing datafiles or screenshots of completed work. You will need access to a computer and the Microsoft Office suite to complete the course.
On successful completion, learners will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills.
You must have a live internet connection via wifi, any 3G or 4G network and a modern internet browser such as Chrome, Safari or Firefox. If using Internet Explorer, we always recommend using the latest version.
You must have access to a desktop PC, laptop or any Android or iOS compatible mobile device and the Microsoft Office suite to complete the course.
