Electrical, mechanical and the use of engineering machines give young people a well-rounded experience of a wide variety of engineering disciplines to ensure the correct career pathway can be supported to progress to the correct apprenticeship.

What does the course cover?

You will cover a range of hands on engineering topics, including:

  • Machining
  • Electrical wiring
  • Maintenance
  • Hand fitting
  • Health and safety
  • Using technical information and how to work efficiently in the workshop
  • Plus a range of employability skills. 

 

Will I receive an allowance?

You will receive an allowance of up to £25 per week. 

What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations.

What are the entry requirements?

You must have a GCSE grade 4 or above in maths and English.

We have three locations where you can study for the course:

  • Oldham Training Centre 
  • Greater Manchester SkillCentre in Trafford Park
How much does the course cost?

The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
