This Skills Bootcamp is ONLY fully funded for those that live in Greater Manchester.

Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to a guaranteed interview with a local employer.

On successful completion of this Skills Bootcamp, you will have gained an insight into the worlds of branding, digital marketing, web and content design, eCommerce, and the required legislation.

What does the course cover?

Week1: Cyber security, information governance for content creation and tools and technology 

  • Provisions of the Data Protection Act, Copyright, IP, consequences of data misuse 
  • Operational aspects of risk including BAU security principles for individuals and systems 
  • Scheduling, analytical and content creation tools 
  • Personal branding - marketing yourself for employment
  • Creating digital presence and brand and digital marketing principles 
  • Technologies, acquisition processes, channels and audience engagement
  • Market segmentation - B2B and B2C
  • Human psychology and role in marketing 
  • Strategic principles of branding 

Week2: Content creation 

  • Key stages in end-to-end process for creative media content 
  • Creating and targeting campaigns 
  • Identifying opportunities 
  • Tone, copy writing, content assets and promotion planning 
  • Content creation for web  
  • UX design, Wordpress, Wix and Google web builder 
  • Audience focus, code compatibility, blogs, reviews and podcasts 

Week3: SEO, paid ads and email marketing 

  • SEO technical introduction, on-page and trends 
  • Paid search and email campaigns 

Week3: Use of data 

  • Google Analytics and Management Information 
  • Marketing metrics, data analysis and traffic analysis 

Week4: Portfolio, CV building and employability skills 

  • Industry overview, functions of Marketing teams (including roles/responsibilities) 
  • Guest speakers
  • CV and portfolio building
  • Interview techniques and preparation
What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course however, you must be eligible for funding to apply, please see the section below - Fully Funded Entry Criteria. 

Fully Funded Entry Criteria

Our Skills Bootcamps are fully funded for anyone aged 19+ who is:

  • Employed either full-time or part-time
  • Unemployed
  • Self-employed
  • A serving prisoner due to be released within 6 months of completion of a Skills Bootcamp and those on temporary release
