Traineeship Vacancy - NHS

This exciting Traineeship opportunity is for anyone aged 16-24 who is wanting to start their journey to a successful career in the Healthcare sector.

Traineeships are designed to prepare you for progression onto an apprenticeship or employment.

There is a bursary available of up to £75 per week for successful applicants.

When does the Traineeship start?

If you are a successful applicant, you will start your Traineeship in October 2022.

What does the Traineeship involve?

This Traineeship will combine work experience and study.

The study element of your Traineeship will take place at:

Wigan Training Centre
Unit B Sovereign Business Park
Kingscroft Court

You will complete the following qualifications:

  • Level 1 Health and Social Care 
  • Level 1 Employability Skills

If you do not already hold maths and English qualifications, you will be given the opportunity to gain these qualifications during your Traineeship.

The work experience element of your Traineeship will be will take place at either Wrightington Hospital, Royal Albert Edward Infirmary at Wigan or Leigh Infirmary. Job roles and duties will be discussed at your interview.

You will receive regular Employability Progression Pathway sessions during your Traineeship to support you with applying for roles within the NHS.

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust will deliver training sessions which may include:

  • Dementia Awareness
  • Autism Awareness
  • Wellness 
  • Fraud and Information Governance

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements however, applicants must be passionate about starting a career within the Healthcare Sector this will be assessed during your interview.

Do I have to pay for the Traineeship?

No, Traineeships are free for anyone aged 16-24.
