International Women in Engineering Day: Celebrating the women shaping the future of engineering

19 Jun 2025

Monday 23 June 2025 marks International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) — a global celebration of the achievements of women engineers and an opportunity to inspire the next generation.

Now in its 12th year, INWED is led by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) and is the only international awareness campaign that gives women engineers a platform to be seen, heard and celebrated. This year’s theme, #TogetherWeEngineer, highlights the importance of inclusion and collaboration in driving innovation across the sector.

At the Growth Company Education & Skills, we’re proud to support the next generation of engineering talent through our apprenticeship programmes. We currently have women on our Level 3 Engineering Fitter and Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeships, and we’re committed to welcoming even more because a more diverse workforce makes for a stronger, more resilient industry.

“Engineering is all about problem-solving, and the best solutions come from having different perspectives, experiences and ideas around the table. At The Growth Company, we’ve supported many women in engineering and seen them thrive. They’re treated with the same respect and support as their peers by tutors, employers and fellow apprentices, and we’re proud to help create that kind of environment.”
Ryan Lattin, Delivery Manager

We’ll continue to create supportive, inclusive pathways into engineering — where all learners can thrive and build rewarding careers.
