Investing in the Future: Peyman's Path to a BSc in Business Management

14 Aug 2026

Peyman Goodarzi, 52, has always had a passion for learning and personal development. In 1999, he began studying accounting but was unable to complete his qualification due to financial difficulties. Despite this setback, Payman never lost his ambition to return to education – and in 2023, he decided to take the leap.

Peyman’s working life has been rooted in manufacturing. Starting in 1993 at McVitie’s, he built a solid 30-year career before moving to Procter & Gamble in 2023. There, he took on the role of Technician Operator and Team Leader within the department. With aspirations to progress further into management, Peyman wanted to strengthen his business knowledge to support this career development.

With support from his employer, Peyman has been able to pursue his BSc in Business Management. This support has been invaluable as he juggles the demanding balance of full-time work, study and family life, especially with his youngest child being just three years old.

The journey hasn’t been easy. During his Access course, Peyman faced challenging times but remained determined to succeed. Often after finishing a night shift, he would go straight to class, demonstrating his remarkable commitment and resilience.

Peyman’s personal achievement is clear: “I still got it!” he says proudly. Always eager to learn, he sees education as a door to new opportunities and job progression. He emphasises that returning to education is “never too late,” encouraging others with the advice that it is “doable and very rewarding, though tiring.”

His studies in business, and the broader skills he is developing, are not only enhancing his career prospects, but also equipping him with tools applicable to everyday life.

In July 2026, Peyman proudly graduated with his BSc in Business Management, achieving a goal that had been decades in the making. Walking across the stage to receive his degree was not only a celebration of his academic success but also a testament to his perseverance, determination and belief that it's never too late to invest in yourself. His achievement demonstrates that with commitment and the right support, it is possible to balance work, family and education while achieving your ambitions.

Reflecting on his experience, Peyman highly recommends the Growth Company:
“One of the main reasons I chose to continue my degree with the Growth Company is because of the exceptional support I received during my Access course. It’s made all the difference.”
