Longsight learners get a taste of police life

26 Feb 2018
The students at Longsight training centre went to Longsight police station on Wednesday 14 February.

They had a full tour of the station - using old and new fingerprinting software, spending time in the cells as well as finding out about the process of being arrested and the different court procedures.

Afterwards, they worked with the forensic team solving a mock crime using various forensic techniques. The students even got the opportunity to ask questions in a Q and A session with a member of the forensic team to find out what it’s like as a career.

Sarah-Jayne Davies, Employability Tutor at Longsight training centre, said about the day:

"The students at Longsight training centre really enjoyed their police visit - two of the students are now considering working with the police after we spent time with the forensic team. We were all really impressed with their work ethic and fantastic behaviour!"
