On Thursday 10th July, we welcomed learners, parents and carers from our Tameside Skills Centre to a special graduation ceremony held at Curzon Ashton Football Club.
The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work, progress and achievements of our learners in a supportive and uplifting environment.
Each learner was invited to collect their certificates before awards for Overall Achievement and Most Improved were handed out for each course, all introduced with heartfelt words from their tutors.
Additional Special Recognition awards were also presented, including the prestigious Overall Learner of the Year award.
Each winner received a certificate and a medal to mark their success.

Layton Williamson, who received the Overall Achievement award for Employability, is due to start his new customer service role at Ashton Pioneer Homes soon.
His proud mum, Rebecca, said: “I’m over the moon for him. He was always quite shy and to hear how he has been helping other people and how his confidence has been brought out I’m just thrilled and so excited for what’s to come for him.”
Kasey-Leigh Walton, received the Most Improved Learner of the Year award for Health and Social Care, said: “I really enjoyed the course. It was lots of fun, and the tutors made everything easy to understand. I’m looking forward to coming back in September for my level 2.”
Suzanne Hatherill, Youth Engagement Officer, and Joanna Whitehead, Operational Manager (Careers Team), from Tameside Council, also joined us for the event.
Suzanne said: “The event was a lovely way to celebrate the learners and give them a boost as they take their next steps. It was great to see their achievements recognised and the pride on their parents’ faces. Some of the learners had previously come to us for careers guidance, so it was especially nice to see those familiar faces crossing the stage.”
