What is PSHE?

PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic education.

It's a non-accredited (but still important) part of learning that helps young people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their lives now and in the future. It includes:

  • Mental health and wellbeing

  • Healthy relationships and sex education

  • Financial literacy (like budgeting or understanding payslips)

  • Drug, alcohol and risk awareness

  • Citizenship and social responsibility

At our Skills Centres, PSHE helps learners build life skills, grow in confidence and better understand the world of work and adulthood — especially useful for 16–18-year-olds who need a bit of extra support before moving on to further education, training or employment.
