Are you aged 16–18 and looking for a supportive, hands-on way to build your skills, confidence, and career prospects? At our Tameside Skills Centre, we offer courses designed to help you take the next step — whether that’s further education, training or employment.
Our Tameside Training Centre, part of The Growth Company, is based in Ashton-under-Lyne (just behind Cineworld), only a 5-minute walk from the Metrolink and town centre.
What We Offer
Health & Social Care – Level 1
Learn how to support others and make a difference in your community. These courses are perfect if you're interested in working in care, nursing or health services.
Construction Multi-skills – Level 1
This course provides hands-on training in a range of essential construction trades, building a strong foundation for a career in the industry.
Customer Service – Level 2
Develop the communication and problem-solving skills employers are looking for. Great for all careers.
Employability Skills – Level 1 & 2
Get job-ready with essential skills like CV writing, interview techniques, teamwork and time management.
Maths & English – Functional Skills (Entry 3 to Level 2) & GCSE
Boost your confidence in everyday maths and English. Whether you're catching up or aiming higher, we’ll support you every step of the way.
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education)
Build life skills that matter — from mental health awareness and healthy relationships to money management and decision-making.
