About this opportunity

An opportunity has arisen to join a busy manufacturing company at their production facility in Salford, Manchester.

As an Apprentice Fabricator and Welding Engineer, you will initially gain knowledge of the production department to develop an understanding of the full range of company products and manufacturing processes.

Working on the shop floor to develop detailed operational knowledge of the production machinery and processes involved in the fabrication and welding of components. Becoming competent in machining, preparing and assembling metal parts for welding and developing your detailed knowledge of welding process.

Your aim will be to continually improve your range of engineering hands on skills to become competent in the operation and usage of all on site machinery and process plant used in the manufacture of fork lift truck attachments and other general fabricated parts.

This is a shop floor hands on based Apprentice Engineer role, you will learn practical skills in the machining, assembly and welding of steel parts.

Working under the guidance of a skilled fabricator welder in the team, you will be supported to develop you skills and knowledge of the welding process.

You will attend college to develop your theoretical understanding of the welding process to achieve skilled status and become a full working member of the production team.

What you should have to apply

GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and Science at Grade C or above.
