Working hours are Mon to Fri 40 – 42.5 hours per week dependent on age.

The successful candidate must have a valid full driving license and will be provided with a company car/van.

Job purpose: To carry out a defined and structured training programme to allow the person to effectively carry out routine service and testing on a range of Getinge products. Establish and maintain good customer relations by demonstrating a professional approach to work and excellent customer service.

KEY TASKS:
To cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
To carry out multiple training exercises and courses followed by competence based assessment.
To assist and learn from other engineers as part of ‘on the job training’.
To carry out project work as part of a structured training programme in conjunction with the engineer academy and service team members who are mentoring the apprentices.
Once deemed competent to perform duties the expectancy is that the apprentice will be able to do the following:
To carry out mechanical servicing of equipment
To carry out routing testing of Getinge equipment to the relevant standards as stated in terms and conditions of the client’s contract
To carry out electrical/mechanical fault finding of equipment
To carry out calibration of equipment, where necessary
To maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts
To produce quality documentation for submission to the customer
To maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department
To ensure the company equipment is being used and looked after correctly and that it is kept in a safe condition. To report all faulty equipment or equipment out of calibration to the Service Supervisor
To ensure that correct returns and non-conformance report procedures are followed
To organise and prioritise a continuously changing workload, ensuring that all customers’ calls and enquiries are replied to
To ensure safe and tidy working including use of protective and logical approach to all aspects of the position
To provide sales leads to Service/Sales Manager
To provide out of hours stand by cover, on a rota basis, in order to accommodate the needs of our customers
To read and comply with current relevant legislation documentation
To produce written reports, as and when requested
To submit accurately completed expense claim forms, with supportive documentation, on time
To organise own overnight accommodation as and when required
To maintain telephone contact with the office on a regular basis and with line supervisor
To assist the team members as and when required/requested.

What you should have to apply

Qualifications: GCSE’s in Maths and English as a minimum. Basic engineering knowledge in a mechanical or electrical discipline is desirable.
Work experience: Desirable but not essential. Some work experience in an engineering discipline would be an advantage.
Enhanced DBS (CRB) Disclosure will be required (at the company’s cost)..
On occasions may be asked to work out of designated area.

Skills

Must have a Full Clean Driving License available at the interview stage

A methodical, logical and practical approach.
Ability to work under own initiative, multi task and achieve deadlines.
A positive and team oriented approach, whilst being able to work autonomously.
Thorough understanding of Health and Safety principals.
