A great opportunity is available at NOV Manchester. This role will develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes including a range of welding techniques, fabrication techniques, plasma cutting and additional technical assembly skills.
A normal day would include
• Learning various welding techniques across a range of material
• Learning various fabrication techniques
• Burning out various sizes of plate
• Undertaking fabrication machining
• Assembling Items
• Manual Work
• Learning & Developing Engineering Skills
What you could go on to do:
Initially, your aim would be to complete your apprenticeship in machining by completing your EAL Technical Certificate and NVQ qualification alongside learning a variety of machining skills in company with a view to coming to the end of your apprenticeship and gain employment as a skilled fabricator or welder (or multi skill in both) within our fabrication shop. If successful, it is possible we will train you up to coded welding standards. However, many of our apprentices have progressed well beyond this and taken up positions as manufacturing engineers, managers, project engineers the list goes on for apprentices with the correct attitude. A select few have even had opportunities to work across the globe! We also wouldn’t rule out further education, again for apprentices who show the correct attitude.
