The Graphic Designer Apprentice undertakes basic design and typesetting work for the Group as directed by the Assistant Design Manager. The role will support with day-to-day design activity working across a range of digital and print assets.
A normal day would include:
• Liaising with internal and external customers via phone, email, Skype/Teams or in person
• Producing a variety of designed content, in industry standard software including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Required assets will include social media graphics, digital and print flyers, digital and printed adverts, animated graphics, designed presentations
• Support the team by amending existing designed materials and layouts
• Creating designed templates in Word and Powerpoint
• Preparing, exporting & uploading assets to the design server
• Contribute to maintaining and updating our new asset library
• Attending and participating in any meetings and events to support the briefing process
• Capturing images and audio using basic video, camera and audio equipment
• Contributing to team creative sessions and be involved in brainstorming for creative ideas and content
• Managing design projects that are small to medium in scope and complexity and execute them with direction
• Successfully complete a Junior Content Producer Apprenticeship at Level 3
In addition to your apprenticeship, you may be expected to attend additional training relevant to your role in graphic design. This may include UX training to develop your skills in digital design.
The training and experience you receive should help you progress onto a Graphic Designer job role.

Full training and support will be provided by The Growth Company to help you achieve your apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role. The role will sit in a team of 5 other designers, with a range of specialisms including print, digital design and videographer. This will create a unique and varied learning environment for you.

• Minimum 5 A*-C/9-4 GCSEs including English and Maths and Art & Design/Graphic Design
• AS Levels in Art & Design/Graphics Advantageous

• Experience of working in an office environment
• Digital content creation experience which may include development of resources, social media, digital communications, branding or graphic design
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
