About this opportunity

A wonderful opportunity is available at Whirlwind Building who are based in Accrington. They are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to learn all aspects of bricklaying.

This role will involve:

• To apply build up from foundations using brick, block stone etc
• Applying damp proof course (DPC) correctly
• Installing concrete flooring
• All aspects of landscaping – garden walls, flagging turfing, retaining walls etc
• You will learn types of materials and their purpose on the job
• You must be working outdoors for the majority of the employment on a full-time basis
• It is key you wear all PPE required and appropriate clothing is worn to suit weather conditions whilst on site
• You will be manually handling heavy materials and building support. Please note all training will be given prior
• You will learn to recommend ideas for clients and to learn your own preferences as a builder
• If work is carried out at a quality standard and within the deadline set, cash bonuses can be earned
• The right candidate will increase their chances for employment once a Level 2 qualification is achieved
• The right candidate may be taken on permanently, should a vacancy become available

What you should have to apply

• GCSE Maths and English – A*-C/9-4 is preferred but not essential
