The apprenticeship will involve operating machinery in the various processes in the laminating department and working on opportunities for improving processes including waste reduction and improving the efficiency of various processes.
A normal day would include:
• Setting up, operating machine and checking products meet customer requirements prior to despatch
• Checking and counting stock, tidying warehouse and work environment, conducting or reviewing risk assessments and engaging in quality and health and safety walks
• Communicating with team members and members from other departments to ensure customer requirements are met right first time, on time and in full
• Carrying out other reasonable tasks as requested by the team leader or production supervisors
Career progression to a senior operator role will be offered on successful completion of the main outcomes of the role as well as successful completion of the apprentice training. Progress towards targets will be reviewed and discussed through regular 1-2-1 / personal development reviews with the team leader.
The role would report to the production team leader, however you will also be trained and supervised by senior staff who are competent and experienced in the processes you will be trained to run.
Apart from skills and competency development, we will also review and feedback on attitude and behaviours in line with company values. You will be offered opportunities to develop and grow in your role and progress to become a future team leader if that is your goal.
