Apprentice Press Brake Operation

About this opportunity

A wonderful opportunity to learn precise and detailed skills. This role centres on bending and forming various metals to customer specifications. You will need to read & interpret detailed & complex instructions to produce the desired parts.

A normal day would include:

• To operate the company press brakes
• Must have good analytical & mathematical skills to interpret drawings
• Must adhere to the company H & S guidelines regarding PPE
• Complex programming using all features of the press brake including pinch bending
• Gain a full understanding of drawing projections & tolerances & how they relate to the finished part
• Thorough understanding of a flat pattern layout
• Ability to work well with others in an efficient & timely manner
• Keep work area, including machine surfaces clean at all times
• Identify areas of process improvement, cost & waste reduction
• Attention to detail. Fully inspect the part before & after bending

What you could go on to do: Fully qualified Engineer where you can continue to progress within the business

How you will be supported: Full training is provided under direct supervision, as well as training and support provided by The Growth Company both on site and at college, to help you achieve your Apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role.
