About this opportunity

As an Apprentice Technical Claims Handler you will proactively and efficiently deal with an insurance notification of loss in its entirety.

A normal day would include

•Be able to handle and administer an First Notification Of Loss claim in its entirety
•Be able to correctly advise on claim routes and identify revenue opportunities. Ensure all applicable services are offered and follow up work and tasks are completed in a timely manner
•Be able to effectively deal with a third party intervention and be able to mitigate losses
•Be able to review and verify data in order to ensure fraud is detected whenever present
•Be able to highlight indemnity concerns
•Be able to articulate fraud and indemnity concerns to seniors
•Be able to negotiate with third party representatives and be able to confidentially discuss liability
•Have a fair understanding of the Highway Code and case laws
•Be able to use and understand multiple systems
•Be able to set and amend claim reserves for various aspects of the claim in line with the reserving philosophy
•Ensure claim data and costs are accurately inputted
•Be able to review payment packs, highlight anomalies and confidentially negotiate costs
•Ensure that all regulatory requirements are adhered to including the protection of client and company data.

•Educated to at least GCSE level A-C Maths and English

Personal Qualities

•Clear and professional communication skills – be able to communicate to people with various levels of knowledge both verbally and in writing
•Negotiation and influencing skills
•Good understanding of claims and liability
•Planning and time management skills
•Experience of identifying root cause analysis
•An understanding of the reserve philosophy
•Experience of handling complaints, be able to problem solving and provide solutions
•IT skills and familiar with MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
