About this opportunity

An excellent opportunity within one of the UK’s largest pension schemes. Join a dynamic and self-directed Trustee Governance team to support the governance arrangements for a range of Committees within the Railways Pension Scheme.

A normal day would include

• Assist team colleagues with the compilation and despatch of meeting agendas to meet agreed service levels. Liaise with internal colleagues and external parties at all levels in person or via email/telephone.
• Assist in co-ordinating the production of meeting minutes in line with ‘house style’ and document post meeting actions.
• Update statistics charts monitoring compliance with agreed service levels.
• Assist experienced colleagues managing Member Nominated Trustee election and ballot procedures.
• Assist in monitoring, managing and maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory and constitutional procedures.
• Arrange travel and accommodation via our Travel Management System.
• Deal with routine correspondence and enquires via email, post and telephone, and general office administration.
• Be involved and contribute to ad hoc Trustee Governance or organisation-wide projects.

• Pensions Management Institute’s Retirement Provision Certificate
• The Pensions Regulator’s Trustee Toolkit

There is a possibility for future employment with RPMI at the end of the apprenticeship if a vacancy exists and following successful interview for the vacant position.
Pension Scheme governance is evolving and the role of the Trustee Governance team at RPMI will evolve to ensure it is in the best position to guide our Trustees. As such, there may be future opportunities within the company to expand your role within the governance area and to attain additional professional qualifications.

How you will be supported
Full training and support will be provided through daily contact with your training supervisor, and regular one-to-one meetings with both your line manager and your apprenticeship mentor at The Growth Company.

What you should have to apply

Good general standard of education including GCSEs grade A-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
