Apprentice Welder/Fabrication Production Operative

About this opportunity

The apprentice will work in the manufacturing department, working closely with existing highly trained staff to learn all aspects of production. Hall Fire Protection Ltd offers a significant reward package for the successful candidate.

You, the apprentice operator, will work closely with the existing very experienced manufacturing team to learn and develop your skills and gain knowledge of machine operations in the department. The fire sprinkler systems manufactured on site are bespoke to each customer’s requirements. The designs are produced on site by our own design team.

The main duties within the department include:
Handling the pipe work
Cutting pipes to specific sizes
Using machines to make grooves in the pipes
Using band saws and circular saws
Threading pipes to make fittings
Mechanical jointing
Fitting pipe work
Manual painting of pipe work
Reading from work instructions and controlling documentation
Keeping work area clean and tidy and working as part of a team
Following good health and safety working practices
Manual handling
Manual dexterity/general fitting

Hall Fire is a leading independent specialist with 40yrs+ experience in designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems nationally.

The apprenticeship will be a shop floor hands on based role with your aim being to develop your practical skills and knowledge of the production and assembly process to become a fully contributing member of the team.

There is potential progression to the servicing department, learning engineering maintenance or gaining experience in the design areas of the business.

What you should have to apply

Good GCSE achievements demonstrating a good level of understanding in both maths and English.
The successful candidate will preferably have achieved GCSE Grade C in maths and English.
Evidence of working in a technical environment would be an advantage or an interest or hobby in assembling parts eg cars, bicycles, domestic equipment
