The Victoria Gallery & Museum (VGM) houses the University of Liverpool's art & heritage collections. The Visitor Services Team are the first point of contact for visitors & you will assist in providing a helpful & knowledgeable service to the public.
• The apprentice will carry out the following duties under supervision:
• Staffing Reception, answering phones, cash handling for shop sales.
• Locking up and opening gallery and museum spaces in line with agreed protocols
• Invigilating the Galleries and Museum
• Answering visitors’ enquiries and questions
• Ensuring public areas are kept to the highest standards of presentation at all times
• Ensuring information leaflets publicity material, and resource materials are kept well stocked in all public areas, replenishing as and when required
• Reporting any problems regarding public areas to Duty Managers
• Helping to set up for and clear up after events, including moving furniture.
• Stewarding performances in the Leggate Theatre
• Assisting with admin
• Supervising contractors/maintenance staff within secure areas
• Maintaining the security of the building keys, signing them in and out as required.
Minimum of 3 GCSE's at grade C and above in English, Math's and ICT
Dependable, reliable, good interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team, ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines. Good attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels in the University.
Flexible, enthusiastic approach to work.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office (especially Word & Exel)

Working with a closely integrated small team, 4 days on 4 days off rota. 8am to 6pm day- 1 hour for lunch.<br>
